# Every pet gets a digital identity. Every found pet gets a path home.

PawsitivID is a pet identification and lost-pet recovery platform built by Datag Inc. It combines AI photo matching with a biometric Pawsitiv ID per pet and a shared workspace for Animal Control Officers and shelters. Pet owners get peace of mind. Municipalities get higher licensing compliance and faster reunification. One record, one platform.

## Why we built it

Roughly 10 million pets are reported lost or stolen every year in the United States. Dog recovery rates run around 63%. Cat recovery rates run around 52%. More than a third of missing dogs and nearly half of missing cats are never reunited.

The infrastructure built to fix this is fragmented. Microchip registries are incompatible. Paper tags fall off. Scanners do not talk to each other. Municipal licensing systems sit at 13–23% compliance.

PawsitivID was built on a single bet. If the pet's face is the lookup key, identification works wherever a smartphone works. No chip reader required. No registry consolidation project. No paper tag to lose.

## What we actually do

- **Biometric Pawsitiv ID per pet.** A system-generated identifier captured from multi-angle photos at registration. Built to travel with your pet — owners refresh photos as their pet ages, and the app reminds them when it's time.
- **AI photo matching for lost-pet recovery.** Any found-pet photo is compared against registered profiles. Match confidence is surfaced to the owner and the resolving officer in parallel.
- **Guest found-pet reporting.** Anyone can submit a found pet without an account. It is the only unauthenticated flow in the product.
- **Digital pet licensing for municipalities.** Cities and counties run their dog and cat licence programs on the same record the AI matching works against.
- **Animal Control Officer workspace.** Mobile-friendly tools for the field. Lookup by any ID, upload found-pet photos, manage cases by jurisdiction.

## Who builds it

Datag Inc. is a US-based company. PawsitivID is our first public product. V1 is a pilot deployment with Northern Colorado Humane Society and partner municipalities. The consumer app is free on iOS and Android. Revenue comes from optional municipal licensing programs.

## What we believe

- **Recovery should not cost money.** No subscription, no upsell, no premium tier for faster matching.
- **Identity travels with your pet, and resolution is ambient.** The Pawsitiv ID stays with your pet as you refresh their photos. Anyone with a camera can resolve it.
- **Public-safety integration matters.** ACOs and shelters do the hardest work in the reunification chain. Field-grade tools come first.
- **AI in service of the existing workflow.** We augment microchips and tags. We do not replace them overnight.
